I have some Weld wheels now with a like 5" of backspacing, may be 5.5, not sure. It helped with some control arm contact, but increased fender contact. So i did a bit more trimming.

glad my truck helped.

XLR8R nice job and nice results. I don't know how you did it but I had to put in a 4.5" Tuff Country lift with my 37's and I actually have the correct rims, 20x9 with 6" backspace. I couldn't have done it without the lift. Even with the lift I had rubbing in the front and had to trim the front chin spoiler. No rubbing at all by the fender though. Also I have 4.10 gears but have not been able to calculate mileage yet since I haven't had my computer adjusted yet for the bigger tires. It is way off, the other day I got pulled over for doing 68 in a 55 and the speedo was on 58 or so!!! The cop was cool though he let me slide since I was honest with him and not trying to make up a story.

Here is my setup

Is the steering set-up different on the older trucks vs say an '05?

Thanks!

Looks like your lift came with longer lower control arms, so that's why your tires clear the rear wheelwell and took a "bite" out of the chin spoiler.

Nice truck

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, just wanted to show the difference with a 4.5 lift and same tires compared to XLR8R's setup.

Hey D, me too!

Been hard to find long enough expanses of time to meditate under my "thinking cap" recently, but I've finally put pencil to paper...
