I installed my egt gauge yesterday, what is the lever hooked to the boost elbow area?

what do you mean by "boost elbow". Is it on the turbocharger? if so, its the wastegate actuator and the boost elbow is really the compressor outlet.

The wastegate controls/limits the boost pressure. I am surprised that you being a senior member along with the extensive modifications to your trucks that you don't know what the wastegate is and what its for.

Something's fishy. What gives?

 

I never noticed it on my 97. I only saw it when I worked on the manifold on the 03.
