Rocker Box Gasket

Gents, I'm going to replace the "weaping" rocker box gasket at next oil change. I picked it up today at dealer and this one is Rubber!!. The original looks to be paper??? I have not torn it down yet, but does that sound correct. They check the # 3 times for me. Maybe the new one is rubber and has been upgraded. The org. one weaped almost from day one.
Thanks

MIne to, and it is rubber from the factory.... It leaks more in the cold bigger change in the metal, I just clean it from time to time. I have talked to people that replaced them and had the same thing happen after they wasted a lot of time on it. Remember you need two one for the bottom and one for the top. You have a O ring on the head then the lifter block, one more O ring then the cover. If one is leaking then the other is too I would bet.

Had mine and others that post on this site had theirs replaced under warranty. No issues since.Mine was like two years ago.Was told it only takes a slight amount of roll on the rocker box seal to cause a leak.It pays .8 to do under warranty flat rate.

YEP.Years 6 and 7 have a $100 deduct.0 through 5 do not! I would suggest it be done after truck left night before.I'd rather that rocker box be torque cold if the book dosen't mention it.

It's an easy change for either gasket 10-30 minutes tops.
