I was told that if I didn't the get recall done that they wouldn't honor my warranty because it was a safety issue. Drove a half hour down the road and they let me sign a waver. Guy said most of his Dodge customers didn't want it.

I haven't gotten any recall in the mail and can't find one online. What is the recall and for what years? Thanks!

I got the recall "but" I remember the recall saying safety recall. I had the work done My bad.

I have learned that if I shift to park before opening the door the horn does not honk. It only honks when I open the door before shifting out of reverse.

FYI:One day I had to work on my 5th wheel reverse lights so I pulled the horn fuse to prevent the honking while hooking up a reverse camera. BTW I took the camera back poor picture quality.

My service writer told me I did not want to have it done because of the annoyance factor.

Great service writer. Most of the morons I end up with don't know the difference between Brake Fluid and Power Steering Fluid , Much less have the common sense to tell me about something as annoying as this blasted recall. My mistake for not doing my homework.

I just feel sorry for those folks saving some money by buying used.. I have been told by several dealers that if I traded the truck in, they automatically search the vin to check for recalls and do any and all that haven't been done before it leave's their s t e a l e r s h i p(Why is it when you leave spaces out it sensors it?).

And no, I didn't have it done... I had to call all the way up to the NHTSA were I talked some some "head hancho" lawyer who in turned called my local dealership and informed them that this was not mandatory that they had to honor my warranty....

Please excuse a newbie for asking a dumb question....

Not knowing what the actual problem entails, why would having the recall done be such a bad thing?

Because it scares the bejeezus out of you the first time it happens!!!! It happened to me the first time I backed up my trailer into the storage spot. Backing in with the door open to judge how "deep" to back the trailer and the dang horn started HONKING!!!! CAN YOU SAY V E R Y A N N O Y I N G ?!?!?!

I got the recall and when the dealer asked if I wanted it done I told them NO WAY.
In answer to Kelly15 s question about the year, the 06 came with it already installed.
Mine is an 05 and become some moron couldnt make sure his truck is in Park, we all have to get this crap.
Bad part is if they ECU ever has to be replaced you get it anyway.
