Return from Rail

I have a quick question, the fuel that comes out of the rail for return, does that go into the factory fuel filter canister? I am asking this becasue i do not use the factory fuel filter anymore and was told that this is where the return fuel goes. So if this is the case i would be losing fuel.

The fuel has a few returns. They all return back to the OEM Filter canister.

If you had a leak you would know it. There would be diesel every where.

Your Fuel rail pressure relief valve returns to the fuel tank , along with your injector return at the back of the head and CP3 pump return.

The factory fuel filter canister is bored through in the rear to pass fuel through it for the return system. The fuel that is returning through the canister is seperate from the supplied fuel.
If you removed the canister then you would have to fabricate a new return system or purchase a pass through pipe to replace the canister system/passage.

Exactly..we did this for our shop truck. Basicly get an alum tube and have them bore it and tap it to the thread picth of the banjo bolts. Pretty simple and cleans up the side of the motor a lot!
