ecm learns how i drive? is that correct?

after finally getting some power to my 220k truck, by reseting my apps sensor and essentially my ecm, i went out and got her muddy today. loud whine came from motor, and once again poor power came out of my motor until i got out of the mud. now truck runs like crap again. why why why. do i have to let my ecm learn how i drive after i go mudding for more than 1 min? is that loud whinning my turbo on the way out? on the happy day i had with my truck yesterday, only one since i owned her, i could barely hear the turbo. maby the turbo is the cause of my lack of power. anyways, looking for suggestions what to check or do, other than write my truck off like my friends say. how much turbo spoil up and whine should i hear on a 03. the 07's sound impressive. wish i knew if that was the prob. anyone know any good mechs in southern alberta. thanks for listening to me complain, again.

Not sure why the power loss. Have you tried finding the whine? Is it there when idling? Bad alternaters can whine horrendously too.

Check the normal stuff first, like the air filter and fuel filter.
Is the lift pump original? See if a little black module is mounted in back of the fuel filter canister. If there it's most likely the original, the updated dealer replacement is a submerged pump in the tank.

Also do the key On/Off/On trick three times to check for error codes on the odo display in the instrument panel.

alternator is new, fuel and air filter recently changed and lp is original. on off key trick is fine. no whine while at an idle or normal driving. almost had enough of this truck. where is best place to plum in fuel pressure sensor. do that to check pressure, its happening monday. maby to its because i have 250 low output?

Sounds to me like you might have a hole in an intake boot, or a loose clamp on one of the boots .

When you floor the truck does it smoke bad? After you get going does it continue to smoke bad? If yes check for a boost leak. If no boost leaks have you taken the boot off going into the turbo and checked the blades? Then wiggle the shaft up and down in and out. If there's alot of play then your turbo is shot. If just a little play and blades look o.k. then turbo is more than likely o.k.
