I was wondering if anyone had replaced the front and rear end gears from the stock 3.73's to a 3.55 like used to be in the older trucks. Do they they make this ratio for 05's and woould it help on top end any?
In case my sig does not show up, I have an 05 3500 4x4.

I've swapped gears in my truck from 3.73 to 4.10, they make all sorts of gears for the AAM 11.5. The front axle uses Chrylser 9.25" ring gears (from a rear end).

 

Thanks John. Does any one know if this would lug down a 6 speed too much. Would it help fuel mileage?

The price of 2 complete gear swaps would probably be close to that of a Gear Vendors over/underdrive. You would get much more flexibility out of the gear vendors unit.

 

I concur. Once I went to the 315s the 4.10s are GREAT with my NV5600
