Question Removing DMF question

PREFACE: To all non-newbies here, if you find a thread on this, please post a link. I could not.

I'm planning my clutch replacement job soon and need an easy answer from someone who has done their's before. Does the Dual Mass Flywheel, after the clutch and plate are removed, simply unbolt from the crank and come out as one piece? Or is it actually two pieces, one being the flywheel and the other being like a flexplate that i'll have to borrow a barring tool to do? Truck is in sig.

TIA

Chris

From reading on here it is 2 pieces. Flywheel surface bolted to the flexplate. The bolts for the flywheel surface are on the back side of the flexplate just like if you were doing a auto tranny removal of the TC. You will need a barring tool to spin the motor.

On the pass. side there is a plate that you need to take off. In there is where you can get to those bolts. You can turn the fly wheel with a bar. BE VERY CAREFUL, THAT THING IS HEAVY when you get the last bolt out.
