Put 35" Toyos now swaying

I put some new 35inch toyo mt on my truck. I had 295s on it before. Now going down the road I can switch lanes fast or just move the wheel kinda quick and it feels like my whole truck sways!! Like starts from the front and sways all the way to the back. Whats up with that??

its cause they are new tires, give them a few hundred miles to break in and they will feel better!

Ok I was wondering.. I didn't know what was going on!! Last set I put on my old truck was grapplers and it didn't do it. What kind of psi should I run in these toyos for best ride and looks and life of tires?

play with the pressure, and see what feels the best. i'm running about 55 psi up front and 50 psi in back and it feels pretty good. when new and running 65 psi, mine felt like they were drifting a little.

When I put my Toyo's on I noticed the same thing initially. Now, things have broken in and I don't notice it anymore.

The open lugs of the Toyo MTs release mud really well, but they also give a bit of a squirmy ride before the lugs wear down to ~ 50%... first 25 miles in the '05 with the 37" Toyos were white-knuckled!

With those big tires and lift, don't forget about some TLC for your front end - like an SSSSS & trackbar bushings.

Yeah, what they said.... and also remember the larger sidewall will have a little play in it too...

What exactly is the SSSSS do? I have a 2inch levelin kit and I kinda want to go a little higher. Maybe like 3inch lift all the way around.. Would I still need the SSSSS

The steering sector shaft stabilizer prevents side loads caused by the tires' resistance to steering inputs from wearing out the bottom bearing & seal of the steering gearbox, and re-establishes the OEM swaybar endlink geometry.

The zero-deflection trackbar bushings prevent death wobble and center the front axle under the frame on lifted front ends.

Also, the SSSSS reduces steering effort with oversized tires.

p.s. I'm not sure about the 35" Toyos, but the 37"s with the 4500# weight capacity have really thick sidewalls... they weigh 94# each!

That's a ridiculous price! My DSS was just over $120, in Canada no less...and everything is usually more expensive up here.

Wow - that's amazing!

Places like PDR Diesel and Source Automotive sell the DSS for ~ $240...

Of course, the SSSSS also incorporates a sway bar drop mount for the lifted trucks (corrects the end-link geometry), uses all stainless steel hardware and a nickel-plated flange bearing. All 308L TIG-welded construction, powdercoated in your choice of color.

You get what you pay for.

Picked mine up at a DSS dealer in Red Deer along with a few others - (4) in total for a few buddies as well as I was driving to home from working in the South end of the province anyway. Buddy even came in on a Sunday to open up the give them to me - paid for by credit card the Friday before.

Didn't need a sway bar drop mount as my truck isn't lifted and neither are 2 others' trucks. Grade 8 steel bolts can be painted to whatever portion is exposed so stainless isn't really required, the weld looks fine to me - no cracks so far, and powder coating especially with the amount of salt up here lasts a week longer than regular 'ol paint and it's under the truck so a nice black color is fine by me. Broken down, each was $128 and change - the boys gave me $140 each just for picking them up, so mine was partially paid for too.

It works as advertised - so yep, I did get what I paid for without the fandangled sales pitch.
