R.A.S.P. pump

Anyone care to comment?

Any experience w/ it? Are they available for 3rd gens yet? I read somewhere that a fuel pressure gauge is not necessary w/ this system?

I believe that they are available for the 3rd gens. I saw them listed for sell on the DTT website.

I helped a friend put one on his 2nd Gen. Very high quality units and work like a champ. It is kind of nice to see fuel pressures go up when you get into the go pedal versus the usual drop.

They just released some new brackets that allow it to be mounted on the 3rd Gens without the fan clearance problems. Gypsyman is test-fitting the new 3rd Gen kit right now at Piers while his new twins go on, so we should have a report in a couple of days. Spendy though if the prices will be the same as the 2nd Gen kits. The full kit with all the hose, fittings, and switches to make it work (you supply the wire) will likely be $800+.

I would still run a pressure gauge if you have room for it. If the belt that runs it breaks, the hobs switch will kick on the stock lift pump to supply fuel. Unless your running at the drag strip at the time or just happen to get a visual, you won’t know this happened without a gauge……well, sooner or later you will know I guess.

Olee Poole ( www.powerbypoole.com ) sells the complete kits and has about the best prices on it that I have seen, but I don’t think he has the new 3rd Gen pump brackets just yet.

I have had one on a 2nd Gen for about 33K miles. I have not had any problems at all.
