Just replaced my pump due to an occasional red patch of fluid under the front of the engine. Approx 36,000 miles and 5 years old. Didn't remove the airbox but I did remove the alternator bolts and move the alternator around to get the pump in/out. Alternator mounting bracket was VERY tight so I removed some metal with a file before attempting to re-install.

Bosch is now on my s__t list. One of the bolt holes on the pump was not drilled in the right spot. It was a little off-center. Spent many minutes and used up a fair amount of cuss words trying to get the lower bolt in before I took the pump back out and discovered the off-center hole. Used a die-grinder and carbide burr bit to elongate the hole. Pump is kept in place by the metal casting ring near the impeller, not necessarily the bolts so the elongated hole won't matter.

I used some goop on the pump side of the gasket to hold the gasket in place during install.

Best way I've found to let the air escape while re-filling the radiator is to remove the top heater hose from the back side of the head. Simple squeeze-clamp, pry the hose off and then fill the radiator. Voila, no more air.

I put a new water pump on the othe day and it leaked more then the old one. Took it off and found that they forgot to put the seal in. So luckily I got it Mopar claimed and got paid to do it again.
