Replacing Water Pump when doing KDP?

Hello,

Wondering if I should replace the water pump now as I have the case open and will be tabbing the KDP. It was still flush with the case after 300K miles.
I just had to know for sure so yadayada..
The WP seems fine and turns smoothly. Do these go often?

Thanks in advance for any info.

If its still working, I'd leave it. It not like its difficult to get at when everything is back together. Drop the coolant, belt, two bolts and the pump is off. Reverse to install. Unless you want to spend money because you can, I'd leave it.

Thanks for the input csa and Tate.

I have spent too much $$ recently on it getting it roadworthy. I have no issues with the heating system and thinking it would be easy to change at a later time if need be.

Now to tab the kdp and lock things back up.
Great to have support for things with this site.

I'm of the if it ain't broke don't fix it school.
Both my trucks have the original pumps with over 270k miles on them.
The pump is so easy to change anyway, doing it with the kdp is little advantage.

Mine went south at 150k. The weep hole opened up on my way to work. But... Id just keep a spare in the truck if anything.

My water pump also failed at about 120,000 miles. It's an easy replacement. Mine was leaking pretty badly but I couldn't seem to figure out where the leak was coming from so I just watched the coolant level for a few weeks and kept looking around... finally the truck overheated and I put 2&2 together.
