Question about tie rod ends, had a scary experience.

So I'm out driving with my girlfriend and in the last couple of days my truck had developed a bit of death wobble. I just thought I had a classic case of the death wobble I've read about on here so much. Well we come up to construction zone, so I slow down to about 50km/h and go through said construction zone, which is very rough I might add. All of a sudden the truck starts rocking back and forth like a couple of giants are trying to tip it. So I get out and start looking at it and discover that my left tie rod end has popped out of the hole, the nut had come loose and fell off. So with the suggestion from my girlfriend, I used a ratchet strap I had in the box to hold it place and limp back to my grandparents farm where I managed to find a nut that fit. I don't know what Dodge was thinking, not using a cotter pin in that nut, I found that a little scary.

Anyways I have a superlift 6" lift kit on my truck and I was wondering if they use the stock tie rod ends or do I need some sort of fancy superlift one?

Thanks guys

If they didn't use a castle nut, the nut would have been the interference / crushed type. It sounds like it was reused when the lift was put on.
