PS question

i've had my truck since it was new. i've ran PS (white bottle everytime) 3 different times in it since i have had it. everytime i have ran it the truck doesn't like it. it runs like crap. hard start rough idle and a lot of white smoke. needless to say i no longer run it. all this post is for is to see if anybody else has had any problems like this with PS.

I've been running PS Clean (gray) + Lubri-Bor in my truck for 30K, & it runs great.

My truck did not like PS either, in fact it really does not like anything except Bio or 2 stroke oil.

How much do you add to your tank each time? IIRC you only need to use about 9.5 oz for each 34 gallons of fuel you add to the tank when refilling. Will it do so if your BDTD is set to stock?

I used it every other tank and had to replace the injectors!

i've tried half a bottle a tank and i've tried just a couple of ounces to a tank and the truck hates it. as a matter of fact i had been running it when one of my injectors went out and i thought that it was just the injector that was making it run bad. but since the new injector is has done the same thing when running PS. i can't remember if i have tried it with the BDTD on stock but i think i have with the same results.
i have run 2 stroke in it with great results. slight increase in fuel mileage and the truck just seems to run better.

with the high levels of solvent in PS (and many other fuel additives), i wouldn't be running a drop over what they recommend, and think running a half dose might be a better idea.

well the bottle was for 100 gallons so i was using what was supposed to treat around 50 gals. but like i said i've also tried a couple of ounces too and it ran the same way. personally i'm not gonna use it on my current truck. i dont quite understand it though cause it has made my last 2 trucks run better.

For unknown reasons starting in 2006 some engines don't like some additives including 2 cycle oil. I just read about a 2006 on another forum that had problems when using PS too so now this makes 2 engines that I've read about who had a problem when using PS.

I run it almost every tank. I buy the bottle for 100 gallons and put in half the bottle every fill up (so about 16 ounces for 22 to 26 gallons). I mainly do this b/c I can't always buy fuel from reputable sources. I've also noticed that the performance I get depends on the fuel supplier and state. I can get awesome mileage and performance from any Flying J from any state (TX, AR, TN, KY, IN, OH, and MI are in my data for Flying J). I haven't been able to find any Flying J's in the state of WV during my travels. I have bought fuel from multiple sources in WV and I end up getting horrible mileage and performance. It's actually b/c of WV that I started running the PS products. But as to hard start, rough idle, decrease or increase in mileage, and reliability; I haven't noticed any gains from using the PS product. I use it as a piece of mind and b/c it seems to make the WV fuel usable.

I've never run any additives in my fuel. Still on my original injectors at 94K miles and currently about 500 hp. It is just my opinion, but I think all that stuff is a waste of money and time. I'd be more concerned about cleaner filtration for the fuel.

I really like the Redline Diesel additive and the Amsoil Diesel really makes the motor run quiet

I doubt we will every know why some engines don't like some additives but it would be nice if we could! Though I will say the Power Service problem just started to show up so one can only wonder if they have made changes to what they add to it or?
