Question Problems At Idle

This has been going on for awhile and I haven't had much luck finding the problem (or a solution). Hopefully my explanation makes some sense:

At idle my truck will surge from 750 RPM's to 1200 or so. Sometimes it will drop to 500 and then surge back up (sometimes up to 1500 RPM's). I had originally thought it was the APPS (or TPS) but I am fairly confident that is not the problem.

Any suggestions what to look at or what might be the culprit? This is on a 03 HD, with an EDGE, otherwise stock truck. Also, no engine codes that point to anything (I do have codes P2509 from bad batteries in the truck and P700 from turning the truck on without the gauge cluster installed).

Thanks

Head to your local Cummins dealer and spend $110 and get a new FCA (Fuel Control Actuator) and problem is solved. Do a search and you'll have plenty to read about on it.

Thanks again for the advice on the FCA. I pulled my old one off, cleaned it up, opened the fuel port a little and I think the truck is happy again. I will test it out tomorrow.
