Problems

So Sunday morning went out to start the truck up and let it warm up. Truck starts up and was about to shut the door when I heard the engine stumble a bit, didnt think anything of it went into the garage to grab a few things and came back 3-4 minutes later got in and the Water In Fuel light was on. Imediately shut the truck down.

Last time the truck was run was on Friday on my way to my buddies house and I did notice the engine stumbling when I'd come to a stop at a light or something. I filled the tank just before leaving and the truck sat till Sunday morning when I started it up. I dumped out the water filter on the airdog150 and I'm looking for fuel filters to replace the one thats been on for atleast 12k.

Any other suggestions? Fuel pressure was about 17-18 psi and when the engine stumbled it would stumble a bit down to maybe 15 and come right back. Local parts stores dont have the fleetguard substitute filter for the airdog and I need to know where I can get them or the airdog filters online ASAP overnighted! I really hope this didnt hurt my CP3 or the injectors.

thanks for the help

Did you get the water in fuel light from the factory fuel canister or did you by-pass it and get the extra water in fuel light for the AD 150? Never heard of the factory water/fuel light going on unless there was a lot of water. The AD 150 water separator is fine, just replace the filters. You could always test the fuel for water if you got a full tank of it. If results come back bad then drain the tank.

Yes its the factory water in fuel light and I just checked its throwing P0480 and P2269

I've got a glacier bypass kit on the truck and the stock fuel canister is off the truck along with the stock feed line. The two plugs that were plugged into the canister are just zip tied up to some other wire.

Ok we still have problems...

Took care of the P0480 got under the truck and pulled the plug on the fan module and cleaned it out and threw some dielectric grease in running fine with no code.

P2269 Since I have the GDP delete for the factory fuel canister the two plugs that had been zip tied out of the way were cleaned out, dielectric grease applied and zip tied out of the way in a zip lock baggie. Factory fuel in water code gone.

All Codes cleared and have not returned

Changed out the Airdog fuel filter and emptied the fuel water separator. sucked out 30+ gallons of diesel and filled the tank at a Flying J. Engine is running good but I'm still getting a stumbling while the truck sits stopped at a traffic light or in park in the driveway. Not as bad as before and certainly not as frequent. I'm posting video's of the tac and the exhaust so you can hear the engine.

Sorry the video's are not the greatest:

Video of Tac

Video of Exhaust you may need to turn up the volume to hear the engine stumbling.

Thoughts?

If your OE WIF sensor is just zip tied out of the way then you weren't getting a real WIF indication.. good chance it was just a fluke.

Exactly, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that was the case. The fuel sample from the tank showed no water.

So now I'm not sure what to think is causing engine stumbling issue...its almost like your quickly blipping the throttle. Don't know how else I can explain it.

Any thoughts, before I drag it in and pay someone to figure it out?

At WOT the PSI drops from 19-20 down to 16-17 as your accelerating hard and when you back off and cruise the PSI sits steady at 18-19. When the engine blips I'm not seeing a rise or fall in PSI. And it is only happening while sitting stopped either parked or at say a stop sign or light.

Also I have never had 1/4 tank issues with my airdog install I can run her dry and she keeps going.

New Update

Got in the truck last night to head home from work. Started the truck up and I'm only getting 15 psi out of the Airdog with a brand new filter installed a few days ago. I have a full tank of fuel and thought maybe the fuel filter partially gelled up(running Howes diesel additive) but I ran the truck long enough yesterday and today that I should have seen the PSI come back up to 20 where it was when I installed the new filter....this is really starting to bug me!

Airdog Pump Died!!!!!!

Guys I need immediate help or ideas on this one! PLEASE!!!!!

Got in the truck this morning (truck has been plugged in all night and since I got home yesterday from Work) truck started up and I had 15 psi out of the AirDog system. Got to feeding the dogs and horses came back 10 minutes later and the truck is not running. Tried to start it back up, turned the key and I have no AirDog pump. Truck will start but I show 0 PSI on the gauge. I assume the CP3 is pulling the fuel.

I'm not at my house and do not have any of my tools with me...The truck is currently at a friends house 1 hour from my place. The fuel filter was changed out a few days ago but I do have 1 spare fuel filter with me and the truck has additive in the tank. AirDog pump is about a year old, I'll be calling them immediately when they open.

I can't recall off the top of my head but is there a fuse I should check some where on the AirDog pump or wiring harness?

Sounds to me like just the gris heater cycling like it's suppose to for a short time. Those things draw alot of amps and will put a quick load on the motor.

Very interesting, while I didn't think your rough idle was AD related it certainly makes me think now.

The CP3 can pull fuel, up to 20 "hg, but I didn't think the AD was a flow-thru design??

I was at the dealership the other day and we were talking rough idle (think I have a faulty solenoid on #2).. they said if it idles rough and throws no codes then its probably fuel, if it throws a code its electrical. So.. with that thought its fuel related..
