A buddy of mine has a 05 ctd and he said that when he is on the gas and around 2400-2600 Rpms it seems like it is hitting a governor. It happens at all speeds and all gears everytime he does it. It will go as fast as he wants but has to do it by giving it a little gas at a time. I am just wondering if anyone has had this happen and can give an input of what it might be.

does he have any power adders? maybe he is running out of fuel. does he just have the stock lift pump? you can pull the pressure down easily. gauges?

need a little more info on his truck.

 

no power upgrades, stock lift pump. He said that it doesnt actually shut off, it is like when you hit a certain speed and the truck shuts off until it slows down then comes back.
