Thumbs up Is it possible to disconnect the seat belt chime ?????

Does anyone out there in DODGELAND know if you are able to disconnect the seat belt alarm ???? I wear my seat belt ( most always) but once and awhile when I have unbuckled the belt I find the chime annoying. Mostly when backing a trailer or in a parking yard I unclip it. When I was working we would always have the chime disconnected in the Ford police cars so I know that they can do it in a Ford, but don't know about the Dodges.

I have a 2006 Megacab. w/ 5.9 diesel. thanks for any input.

do a search on this forum. You need to sit in the seat, buckle the seat belt and turn the ignition on for 10-20 seconds until you hear a chime, signaling you have defeated the seat belt chime (on something like that).

Anyhow, it's an easy fix.

The FIX to disable the chime only disables the chime, the warning light will still illuminate. If you are seeking to completely disable the chime and light, then you will need to JUMPER the pins on the seatbelt plug located under the seat.

You can disable it with a Bully Dog TD

Sit in the seat , put the key in the ignition, buckle the seatbelt, turn on the ignition, dont start the engine, now within 30 seconds unbuckle and bucle belt at least 3 times, wait for a single chime and you should be all set, it worked for me. Roger M

Non of the various procedures worked on our '07 after numerous tries. I ended up jumping the plug. Less elegant, but certainly effective.

Didn't they "fix" that after 07? They being the safety *****. So that you can't disable the chime.

My experience would seem to support that contention.

I'm pretty persistent, but I finally gave up and just jumped the plug.
