Question Posi or limited slip

I have an 05 4x4 2500 diesel truck. In 2 wheel drive, only my left tire spins in soft dirt or on fast take off. is this normal or if I want posi do I have to change the guts in my axle? It tows my 29' camping trailer fine. It runs at 1900 rpms at 70mph and I am running 315's. I dont like the one tire spinning as I hunt quite often and should not have to keep putting it in 4wheel all the time. Any Ideas?

Apply the emergency brake slightly or touch your brake pedal. The braking effect will lock the other wheel allowing both rear wheels to drive. It's all explained in the owner's manual...

You can also check out AAM Axle and Rear ends: http://www.aam.com/technology/tech_p...diff.html#TRGT

What does your option tag say? Doesn't matter.

The AAM TracRite acts like an "open" differential. IMHO, it is a poor choice for
off-road vehicles with no electronic traction control.

At this time there are no other options.

Thumbs up

rossn2, You are right . I lightly stepped on the brake and both tires spun, Just like the Hummers in the military. Thought i read the manual...Thankx for the Link.

My guess there is supposed to be a tag in the glove compartment but mine is missing.
Thanks for the Welcome Spooler, as soon as I figure out how to post a photo of my truck I'll do it. I guess my gear ratio is okay since the truck pulled the 7000lb camper pretty well.
