poor stock brake performance?

I have become quite disappointed with stock braking performacne, especially in panic stop situations.. Im running a 295 tire, which really shouldnt be an issue with hydroboost and 4 wheel disc brakes. Is anyone else displeased? My bronco with 42's and hydroboost brakes better than my dodge, and they probably weigh pretty close to one another (the bronco is 7K). My dodge is sotck aside froma leveling kit and the 295's, and this is unloaded.

I came from a first gen and I'm tickled to death. IMHO, this is the best braking setup Dodge has ever had on a pick-up truck.

Haven't had much of a problem with the brakes. Using the Jacobs exhaust brake when towing has made it so nice....

The Bronco is 7k? Sounds high but your truck is over 9K

I don't think his truck is 9K. More like 7.5K. Weighed my megacab at 7800 lbs. Don't think the Bronco was 7K though. 5300 lbs is the listed weight on the full size bronco.

I guarantee (sp?) my bronco weighs 7K. (more actually until I trimmed LOTS of sheetmetal.)

April, thanks, but I live up in sac area, and dont venture that way much.

anyway, I wonder if I dont have a glazing issue or something. It really just doesnt stop quickly like it should with the pressure of the hydroboost.

Oops, right, over 7K. The point is that the CTD adds about 800lbs over the standard non-ctd. The Bronco is more like 5400lbs.

My 06 Dodge has the best brakes of all the trucks I've owned, and that's with 35" tires on it. I've had 06 Chevy 2500 dura/ally, 05 F-150, 04 Chevy Z71, 02 Dodge 4x4 1500........

I'd think there was something wrong with your brakes on your truck.

I agree, I'm very happy with my brake performance.

You must have an issue somewhere, stops better than any other truck I've owned.
