Exclamation PLEEZ Help me identify this leak

Hey guys, I was under my truck this afternoon changing the oil and I noticed this leak. Can someone help me identify what this is and if it is something serious. I didn't smell any diesel in the oil and the level was fine last time I checked it. Thanks in advance for the help!

Shouldn't be too serious, just keep a close eye on your oil levels and pressure.

Did you look at your water pump as a source or are you sure it is engine oil (looks a bit clean)?

Wink

Front crankshaft seal. Remove the drive belt and pull off the drive pulley/balancer.
This should give you a visual of the leak area. It should be an easy fix.

Hey man, I had the same thing what is leaking is the seal that is pressed into the timing cover that goes around the crankshaft. I fixed mine. To fix it you have to remove the intercooler, drain radiator and remove it then remove the fan and power steering pump pulley, remove timing cover and the old seal that is leaking is removed from the timing cover and the new one is pressed fit in, I did it with a hammer and gentle persuasion. If you would like you can pm me and I will get back with you. Jay

Well, just for grins I crawled under there and snugged up the pan bolts, sure enough they weren't very tight, so I'm PRAYING that is what caused it, I'll keep ya'll updated! Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!

Mine JUST started leaking, too.. Along with my valve cover gasket.

The dealer's fixing mine, under the engine warranty, along with a new CP3. Its leaking too.

If tighting the pan bolts won't do it, Might be the timeing cover-to-block gasket. Tri-lakes Dodge changed mine at 30,000 for free.
