Please give advice

I pulled into the drive way today and as soon as I turned in I got a strong odor of diesel fuel. I opened the hood and it was shooting fuel back into the engine compartment from the #3 injector. Anyone know if it is the injector or a break in the line itself? The odd thing is the truck runs fine, I pulled the line off and I did not see a break , but I dont know if it could be broken behind the ferrel.Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.

chances are it's the line. I had this happen on my 04.5 a few weeks ago. Mine cracked the weld on the injector side of the line. $35.00 part and an easy fix.

Thanks that makes me feel better, Are you talking about the part that holds the injector in? I called the dealer about the line itself and he said that it was $96.00

I pulled the line off again today and I put my finger over one end while putting air in the other end and put it in water, sure enough it is cracked behind the sleeve on the fuel line, got one ordered, will be here saturday. Thanks again for your help.

Be careful when re installing the line. I believe there is a sequence that has to be used. You also MUST use a wrench to hold the fitting on the head side still while you toque the line to it. IF not you will cause internal leaks and fill your crankcase. Good luck.
