p0306 injector misfire code

p0306 injector misfire code

the motor production date is 7/06 and the door date is 8/06, so the motor runs like 6 is dead idling in gear, cruising seems fine and smooth, has anyone experienced similar operation? all I see regarding injector problems are valve cover gasket wire chafing, or inj coil resistance shorting out of range, also mileage is at 100k, so im wondering where to start.

there is two plugs with 6 in line wires near the rail, the one closest to the firewall is for 4-5 and 6, unplug this one and with a ohmmeter check the resistance of each two wires, I think you will find 0.5 ohms on 4, 0.5 ohms on 5 and something like 20 or 30 on 6, for the cracked crystal to be bad enough for a miss it will be way above the maximum limit of 1 ohm. and of course the #6 is the hardest to change, you can not see what you are doing half the time, pervert's like me that do a lot of feeling around have it easier. a inch pound and footpound torque wrench is needed a 24 mm crow foot a 19 mm crow foot another inch pound torque wrench that reads in the 10 inch pound range is nice a 0.020 45* feeler gauge is what you will need in addition to regular tools. the engine tag will state the intake tappets at 0.010 and exhaust at 0.028, you are going to reset to 0.020 and while you are there just run the rack at 0.010 and 0.020. the injector is the only thing you need to order, when it gets there pm me and I will give step by step of removal and replacement.

I checked the resistance on #6 wires tan pink/brown violet, and it is good at .5 ohms, as are the rest, without taking the valve cover off, im suspect of the valve adjustment, but it was running well before, it did sit for a long period of 14 months, im leaning toward some physically holding it from delivering fuel, would I benefit from removing and cleaning the injector tip?

just to add closure, the #6 injector was replaced, and concluded the repair, it was either sludged/plugged, and had no activity, even though the coil tested good.
