Hey fellas, a friend of mine is having an issue with his '06 6spd. The only modifications are no muffler, k&n drop in, and mpc eliminator pipe. When he lands on it in 6th gear, it'll throw an overboost code once it hits 2500 rpm. It will only occur in 6th gear (most engine load?) and the CEL will go out after a day or two of normal driving. I'm kinda leaning towards an issue with the map sensor... any thoughts, or experience with this? Thanks.

 

Over boost??? With stock tires at 28" thats 140mph (130 if he's 4.10's)! 150 with 30" tires.

Overspeed maybe.....I think the ECM is trying to tell him something.

 

Probably normal with the mods. Put a $70 boost fooler on it to get rid of the CEL and codes plus help with the EGT's.

 

it threw a P0234. i find it hard to believe it would be an overboost situation, but a boost fooler may be the answer.
