One piece drive shaft

Got u-joints on their way out, and I went to replace them and saw that the center carrier bearing support is about shot and decided to put this project off for now. Then I started looking into the one piece shafts from the '08-up trucks. Anybody do this swap and are you happy with it in the long run? Seems like a nice easy swap and should eliminate my shudder issues when towing and easier to service in the long run.

You are missing some critical details in your signature:

1. 2wd or 4wd?
2. Regular cab or quadcab?
3. Long box or short box?

All of these questions relate to your driveshaft question.

Updated my signature. It's a quad cab long bed 4x4 automatic. I found the shaft that would replace my two piece shaft with carrier bearing. Just wanting some long term feedback to see if people thought it was worth the cost or if any issues have come up using the aluminum shafts.

from my experience with the 05 we have here, totally worth it. had a local shop bugger up one of the tube yokes while changing a u joint . found out the cost of a new drive shaft assembly and said no way. had one built in Vancouver bc, complete from slip yoke to diff flange for $650. 6 inch aluminum, zero balanced. no more take off shudder, no more 65 to 70 mph vibration. all in all I am extremely happy with it.

truck is an 05 qc lb 4x4 automatic.

That seems to be the general response that Ive been finding is that it fixes a few issues with the take off and driving vibrations. I searched a lot and especially thru the 4th generation forums for anything negative on the aluminum shafts and didn't seem to find anything. I've got u-joints in the truck incase they decide to completely **** the bed before I have the coin to order the new shaft.
