Once TC Slips is it done

My TC slipped on me a couple times pulling heavy. Once it's slips, does that mean it's toast ? I could not get it to slip empty, and I don't think the dealer is going to take my word.

Just back off the throttle alittle on the pulling, you'll be fine. You have found the "edge" now don't go over it.

05HDRAM,
You didn't mention how many miles you have on the truck or if you have any mods. I would say that as long as you were within the factory recommended towing limits and not running any power enhancments, I would at least take it into the dealer and have them document the complaint.
I could slip the stock TC on my truck when towing 10k, but only after adding the EZ and therefore I couldn't complain. It finally progressed to slipping without a load at which time I went with the Goerend TC & VB. Now with an additional 100 HP over stock, I still have NO problems with the trans. It tows, runs at the strip and gets hammered on daily. The trans was upgraded at around 60k and it has 118k on it now. Still a Happy Camper!

Only 15K, no power adder..yet. Towing maybe 10K. I an leaning towards a new TC & VB after doing some searching, appreciate the info.

If the dealer does not take your word I suggest you buy a good VB immediately. With the increased line pressures and T/C release venting you will see a huge inprovement in performance and increased lifespan. Keep in mind that you have already damaged the unit. But if you silp this unit many more times it might be passed the point of no return (so to speak).

Anyone make a VB that works for an '05 ? I searched, and found some people had issues with an aftermarket VB for the '05.

From what I understand ATS is the only one claiming to have NO issues. I installed one of Dave Goerends VB in a 2005 last week and he loves it, it works great. But Dave has said some of them do some "funky" shifting at times. It seems to be more prevalent in the modded trucks.

I have read a bunch of good things about Dave. Looks like I may need to give him a call.

05hdram-

why not just drive the crap outta it so itll slip unloaded and then have dodge repair it. thats what warrantys are for and since you dont have a power adder there shouldnt be any problem right? a VB and TC would be a great mod but the cost is pretty high. just my thoughts
