Onboard computer calibration

My onboard computer registers almost 2 more miles per gallon than actual (based on actual fuel/miles). Is there any calibrations that might get the numbers closer?

There is a TSB that is 'supposed' to make it read closer. I've had it done and mine is still way off. I have never heard of anyones being very accurate though.

I only use the overhead to keep track of my trip mileage, but I'm not sure how accurate that is either. My mpgs are always a little higher than actual hand calculated, so I just ignore it.

My mpg readout reads anywhere from spot-on to 5mpg high. Trip odometer is dead-on all the time. DTE is rather optomistic though... I can usually get an additional 60 miles once DTE hits 0 though.

The mpg readout, imho, is a feel-good addition for those who won't bother with hand calcs. If you want to go on believing you're getting decent gas milage... lol.
