Reprograming onboard computer

Has anyone found a way to perform an computer flash or upgrade without going to Dodge? My local dealers and I have deffering opinions on how to diag and repair a diesel. So far they have taken the wrong path more than a few times when diaging this diesel, of course to there advantage($$$$$).

You may want to see if there is a Cummins dealer in you're area,They also can perform flashes, and i would imagine a good source of diagnostics.TGCTD

I have spoken to the local Cummins dealer and thay won't touch the truck if under warrenty unless Dodge has issued a work order for there assistance. They stated that the only time this has happened was in a case where major engine repairs were needed. But it seems that Cummins nor Dodge are willing to do any more that the very least they possibly can in any issue.

Re:Reprograming onboard computer

I'm pretty ignorant on these things but a place I worked at awhile back had a fleet of FL70 trucks with the 24 valver in them. I looked under the hood a few times and it looked like the exact same motor as mine. Just wondering if a person could swap out ecm's with one of these. I did notice the horsepower on the tag was pretty close(dont remember exact numbers)but the torque had to be considerably higher. Those things were pretty loaded and still ran decent. Is this possible or am I talking out my backside again?

Goofing around looking at medium duty truck websites one day, I noticed the ISB was available on a bunch of them rated at 300hp/860tq.
