Ok Here Goes, 20k Oil Change Due Which Syn Oil ???

For my tractors I will go out of my way to NOT to buy CJ-4 oil. By the way, propably the reason they like JD oil better than the new Rotella is the JD is still only CI-4+.......like oil should be.
Rotella SYN is still CI-4+ not the new junk, when I find out its about to change I will buy about 30 gal of the CI-4 formula for my p/u.

based upon feedback.. going with 20/50 valvoline full syn, instead of 5/30 full syn

Why do you think you should start using 20/50? 15w40 would give you better fuel mileage then 20/50 if your using it in the truck in your sig and flow better in colder temps. My self I would not recommend anyone to use 5w30 HDD oil in and older engine unless its just been rebuilt. But I do recall that some of the older engines could use 10w30 during the winter.

advance auto has valvoline full syn on sale for $2.75 per qt.

three choices available: 5w30, 10w30 and 20w50

too many negatives with running 5w30 as it gets pretty hot in summer here in OK. so going with 20w50
