Mobil 1 fully syn or Shell Rotella Full Syn?

I have diesel Jetta and a 2004.5 dodge - trying to decide if I stick with the mobil 1 full synthetic or use the shell rotella full syn.

I am religous about mobil 1 full syn in my gas vehicles, 15K between intervals.

Mobil 1 rep stated I can run 15K easily in the jetta between oil changes.

What are your guys thoughts / suggestions.

By the way, shell rotella is alot cheaper than the mobil 1 which is leading me towards the shell rotella.

Both are good quality oils. Theres not much difference between conventional and synthetic oils in todays market. Use what ever makes you feel good but that doesn't mean your engine is going to live any longer on either one. Mobil 1 is for gas engines, Delvac 1 turbo diesel (or whatever it's called now) is for diesel engines.

The Shell Rotella synthetic is one of the top rated oils for diesel trucks.

If you go with Rotella syn. make sure you buy a lot of it, since it will soon be changing to the CJ formula from the current CI.
