annabelle, I love driving the Jetta. Because of its small size for parking in our typical miniature parking spots, and daily driving 44 mpg - I only drive the Dodge on the weekends now.

Thanks, Have a friend's sisiter who has one. Gets about 49MPG. I'm looking at them for a new car.

It's all about VISCOCITY. A liquid's ability to flow as related to temperature. There are "straight-weight" oils and "multi-grade" oils. Obviously, a multi-grade oil will maintain good flow throughout a wider temperature range than a straight-weight oil.

Turns out most of the oils you mentioned are being rated as some of the best oils out there for the gassers too. I did some research on oil here lately, as I just lost my 4th. cam on the dyno. Takes less than 5 minutes of run time to lose a lobe when the manufacturers drop the % of Phospherous and/or Zinc. This is being done to suit the Feds wishes for the sake of the Cat. Converter. At this point, it seems that MOST oils that are not specific for racing or motorcycles are going this way.

i use the Royal Purple 15w40 and i love it, i noticed the my truck seems to run a little smother after i changed over to it. it is a little pricey for the 4gallon jugs but deffinatley worth the extra cost.
