Oh my goodness. You're gonna ruin the engine, radiator, grille, hood, and both front tires. You get zero bragging rights for not spending money unnecessarily on overpriced stuff. Just kidding of course. really though i would go a little higher up the food chain of oils. Supertech may be the same or it may have a lesser additive package. JMHO and you do have a considerable investment to protect.

yeah, but he is looking at the ci4 oil versus cj4.I think that cI4 oil is better than cj.I got 6 more oil changes with ci4 plus before I run out. Then I will be force to use cj4.I keep looking for any brane of oil that is ci4 or ci4plus.

You think Wal-mart blends their own oil?

Maybe they have a couple high school punks in the stock room bottling oil as we speak.

The CTD is known to be very easy on oil. I run the cheapest oil I can find, right now its Mobil delvac that was $5 per gallon after rebate. When I'm out of the Delvac the search will be on for more cheap stuff.

It might just be Super-tech.

What do you want to bet my CTD will still be running 300k from now?

Do you really think Wally World buys the best oil and then turns around an sells it for a cheap price? Its your truck to do as you please but like I sad I love mine to much to be so cheap as to run oil no one but Wally World will buy and then put it in my engine.

Just go to tractor dealer or tractor parts place. The oil companies still make CI4 + for heavy equipment and tractors. I've seen it at TSC and I have another supplier where I get Noco brand 15w40 CI4+. It's out there, you just have to look a little.

I see good oil as good insurance against an expensive motor I like spending my money wisely, but I would never skimp on oil. The price difference in good oil and cheap oil is neglibile when you can consider what could happen to your motor running the cheap stuff

1 vote for good oil

What does the cost matter? If it meets Cummins specs, does it matter if its $5 per gallon or $25 per gallon?

Supertech is either blended by Warren performance or Sopus. Warren has been in the oil business since 1922. Sopus is the parent company of Shell,Pennzoil,Quaker state.

You don't blend oil for 86 years if you're not doing it right.

Sopus makes one of the most popular 15-40s on the market with Rotella.

I'd say they both know what they're doing.

Just because something is cheap, doesn't mean it isn't good.

So Wally World Mobil 1 is different than Mobil 1 at $2 more/quart?

They sell a brand name, at a lower price because of predetermined discounts based on enormous volume buys...

Don't refute the source and price if you are getting the same product for a lesser price....

That said, I always run the best oil. I have limited to no experience as of yet with diesels, but if I can get the same quality product at a lesser price I tend to go that direction.

If an oil meets specs, then it meets the requirements to fall into it's intended category.

Do any of the higher priced oils exceed the specifications?
Make an intelligent decision based on some research....

As far as oil for my new truck and change intervals, I am still researching...

I've read a few comparisons out there on the net and Wally World oil really done pretty good.
I don't run the Wally World oil but I do run the cheapo ATF+4 in my G56 and Transfer case. I figure there are only a FEW places blending the +4 so it'll be just fine. I change it every 15,000 miles like recommended.
