Oil question

I am getting ready to do an oil change in the truck, but I came up with a question: I currently live in northern VA where the temps get to about 50 at night right now. I use Rotella in the truck, but I am getting ready to change duty stations out to 29 Palms, CA in December where the daily temp average is about 50 during Dec-Jan. Should I just stay with the Rotella since that is what I have been using for a while now, or should I rotate over to a synthetic since I will still be in Virginia for a while?

Mild temps all the way around. If you like Rotella, you can stay with that and be happy. I wouldn't worry about feeling like you HAVE to have synthetic because of temps unless you were one of our friends in the great white north!

Stick with Rotella for sure, you will be fine with it.

Just keep on using the Rotella. I see no need to change oil unless you are in a realy cold enviorment. I would only get worried if temps are in the teens constantly.

The temps in the Puget Sound region have been cooling down and since a synthetic 5w-40 is approved I switched my CTD & two Bimmers over to the synthetic Rotella 5w-40 (CI-4+ rated) from Walmart @ $16.24/gal. It was tough carrying 6 1-gal jugs and only slightly messy changing all three of them in one afternoon.
