oil pressure right?

I just changed my oil, and the oil pressure at idle is around 40, and goes up to 60-65 as I accellerate, is this normal? Also I just checked my dip dtick, and it is on the far end of the safe mark almost beyond safe, is this OK? Have I overfilled? I put in exactly 3 (1 gallon) jugs of rotella-t 15w-40 in it, which shouldn't be too much, should it????

A little under filled or overfilled will not hurt a thing. I always put in 10.5 quarts and add later if necessary. Since you will never be able to drain every drop of oil from the engine, it most likely will always be overfilled if you put in 12 quarts.

Your oil pressure is normal. The oil gauge is controlled by the computer just like the temperature gauge. It shows you what you expect to see not what the true pressure is. What will they think of next?

I have a prblem with not getting enough oil into mine. I can put three gallons in and not spill a drop and I'm still not even half way up the safe mark. Changed it yesterday and put over half of the fourth gallon in and finally got it to hit the full mark

You should be fine.

Be careful about overfilling, you could plug up the crankcase ventilation system and damage the seals on your turbo from overpressurizing the crankcase.

Also, distance between safe and full is 2 full quarts.

Mine also shows under full after oil change with 3 gallons, but still in the
safe zone.

if you are using the factory lube oil pressure gauge, those numbers could be anything... the factory gauge is a glorified idoit light. engine hot idling, mine sits at 20psig, cold idling it sits at about 40-50psi, and cold at higher rpm, i've seen about 70psi when i've been watching my gauge [aftermarket one]... my oil is 5w40 petro canada duron..
