Oil pressure problem
I was driving today and out of the blue oil pressure goes to zero then pops back up to 40+ threw a code of p0524. Checked oil level and everything looks ok. You can sit and let it idle at 40+ it drops to zero suddenly you shut it off and restart the truck and it is at 40+ again. No knocking or anything just dont want to hurt anything. Hopefully just a sending unit, I also notice if you bring the rpms up a couple hundred as it is falling to zero it recovers and back up to 40+

I would change the filter again with a Mopar filter, you hear a lot of bad things about Fram on our Cummins engines.
Also pull the sender and look for debris. If the pressure reacts to engine RPM then it is most likely a real pressure issue. Also remember that the gauge on the dash does not read the actual pressure. If the pressure is over a set threshold then it reads the same no matter what it is. If it is below the threshold it reads very low. It sounds like you are right at the threshold for the ECM to have normal or no pressure on the dash.

Well that could explain it right there. Frams are a big no no. Not approved for use on a cummins because they can come apart internally and debris can clog piston cooling nozzles. Broke down how and what was done to get going again??

Install a mechanical gauge to verify oil pressure. Drive it with the gauge on it till the concern duplicates. Oil pumps are known to fail once and a while, not common but it does happen.
