Oil pan rusted through!!!
truck went in for service today and same thing rusted out oil pan $1200.00 to replace. this really tweeks me 95000, miles first my bed rusts out from the inside had replaced now my oil pan????
I haven't gotten to serious about cleaning off the old oil leak drips for the same reason.Seriously though, I am debating loading up an old paint gun with WMO and old ATF and shooting the undercarriage of my truck. Ohio is killing me on the road salt thing now that they are using brine on the roads every time there is a chance of frost.
On your rusting oil pan - I stopped several rust bubbles from coming through my paint by coating the area with never-sieze. Another option would be a wire brush and some rustoleum rust converter. It even looks black when done.
This is what I do but I am not in the rust belt....LOL Road salt and crap really wrecks havoc on a vehicle up north. Seen a few come through the dealership used. Rotors are always shot due to the rust.
I know a lot of guys in Michigan and Minnesota run their trucks over the border to get them sprayed with oil. There are companies that take waste oil and spray it everywhere under the truck. It makes the trucks last a LOT longer.
It takes a day and then they drive home. I guess they get them sprayed once a year.
