oil leak

I have a 06 ram 2500 4x4 with a oil leak. It looks like it is coming from the top of trans. I talked to a mechanic and he said that it is a common thing that happens but most people dont fix it. Just wondering if anyone had this problem and if so what to do to fix it. Any info would be much help.

thanks

I'm assuming you have a manual trans? Fill out your sig so we can better help you.

If thats the case just tighten the bolts on your shifter housing. It's just a guess.....I'm not familiar with the G56 trans.

Could also be a coolant leak. Very common on the 06 and it looks like a trans leak. It comes from a small hose under the turbo. Check this and let us know.
