I have been using Purolator L45335 filters on my 2001 I had for 4 years and on my 2005 since new. They are on the Dodge approved list and I can get them local for about $5. So far (knock on wood) I have had no problems.

Can't go wrong with Fleetguard, Wix, Donaldson or Baldwin.

Well, after reading in this thread that the 2 Mopar oil filters I bought a week ago, are standard Fleetguard, I drove 20 miles to Cal-Cummins and picked up 3 Stratopore. They were $13+ each there, but Geno's was out of them yesterday when I placed an order for other things. Oh well.

Now what do I do with the Mopar filters? I have 2 young boys and 2 high-powered pellet guns. Hmmmm.....

Is the Baldwin equivalent along the lines of the Stratopore or merely a standard type filter? I could get those in Escondido for less than $8.

ok

a little data but could not find all data wanted

flletguard LF16025 98% at 27 mircons
.........................60% at 10 microns

Wix 57620XE nominal rating is 14 microns
.................. Beta Ratio: 2/20=14/25

Forgot exactly how to read the beta ratio. But Wix could not give me a absolute rating or anything but the above!

What is the baldwin # . we can have a basic look at it..

ok

a little data but could not find all data wanted

flleetguard LF16025 98.7% at 27 mircons
.........................60% at 10 microns

Wix 57620XE nominal rating is 14 microns
.................. Beta Ratio: 2/20=14/25

above beta ratio menaing 2/14 50% at 14 mircons
................................. 20/25 95% at 25 microns

plus

baldwin BT7349 Nominal 12 / beta factor 2
.........................absolute 30 / beta factor 75

above means at nominal 12 microns at 50%
..................... absolute 30 mircons 98.7%

So on paper looks like Fleetguard takes the lead by a % !!

ps: ever wanted to cut open a filter - I just cut open a Fleet stratapore.. Don't ask me to do it again

Thanks for supplying the Baldwin # which is the same as what I told from Doug's Filters in Escondido; BT 7349. Is that the one you use TPilaske? I like that red color, or is it orange?

It's a nice red ain't it?

All I used were Baldwin's on my old truck, I haven't even had my first oil change on this one, but after that, I'll be ordering a case of oils, a half dozen fuels and a couple of air filters!

That's the part # listed on their website.. they even have a nice cross referance feature there as well...
