I usually use Strapopores, but I've used Wix filters before when I didn't have a Stratopore on-hand; and you can buy those anytime at Pep Boys.

I agree that Genos is a good company to order from, and I ordered an oil filter and a fuel filter from them on February 22 or 23. Got a e-mail on the 24th saying the oil filters were backordered and they should have some within 5-7 days. So, havent heard anything since, and decided to call today. Lady picks up phone within 1 ring(no talking to a machine either-I like) and took my info about my order, and told me it would be at least another 10 days till they get some more in, there is a national backorder on the stratapore filters. Oh well, will just have to wait.
Just for giggles I called the dealer here in town up for prices on filters.
Genos-Stratapore oil filter-9.75
Dealer-Oil filter(did not say stratapore)-13.75
Genos-Fuel Filter-11.95
Dealer-Fuel Filter-33.75
I was getting on this board to ask why the price difference, and happened to catch this thread, glad I did. Good luck ordering your stuff.

FYI, the LF3894 is exactly the same filter, i.e. Fleetguard Stratopore. The only difference between it and the LF16035 is an unfluted can. Also the 3894 is about a buck cheaper. I've run them on my '04 since I did the first filter change. If geno's doesn't have the 16035, see if they will substitute the 3894. Also, ask for the lower price. JOIBO!

I usually just pick up some filters from the local Cummins place, but I was ordering some other stuff from Genos the other day. While I had them on the phone (talking to a live person) I decided to go ahead and order their 4/2 deal for $60.00. Seemed like a good deal to me......shipping was free due to other items ordered. Under my own 5k oil/10k fuel filter replacement schedule im good for 20,000 miles. Hard to beat that deal and it was shipped right to my door.

Yeah, russ300h, I think I probably agree w/ you. As long as you change @ 5-6 k with any filter you're OK. It makes me feel good to go the extra couple of bucks for a premium truck filter. Oil analysis would probably be about the same either way, I suspect.

Be careful though, I didn't say any filter. Wal Mart SuperTech's and Frams are not on the list. Purolators and Wix are less than $1 more and are constructed much better. Fram could cause an engine failure in a Cummins(they are the filters your owner's manual warns you about). ST's seem OK in cars, but I wouldn't trust one in a Diesel. Plus I don't go to Wally unless under extreme duress.
