Which oil?

Which oil?
Hi out there,
I am coming up on my first oil change at 7500 miles, and was wondering what way to go. The manual states to use 5W40 Synthetic if the weather could get colder than 0 (zero), and that is a very good possibility here in the midwest as it will not be until sometime next year before I hit 15000 miles. Since I only have about 2000 miles of towing, the engine is probably not broken in yet, so I should stay with dino oil for at least another 7500 miles.
Do I invite any problem staying with the current oil that is the pig, or should I drop down to a 5W40 dino oil for the cold weather?

Re:Which oil?
I think you can run just about any approved compression ignition rated oil you like; just as long as you follow what's in the manual. This topic has as many opinions as the site has members.
I'd wait until about 15-20k miles before I'd put in syn oil to ensure its fully broken in, but thats me; again, you'll hear plenty of other just as good opinions. I run M1 in all my gassers.
I ran Rotella 15W-40 all winter without issue and will continue to do so. We had many days under 10F. The dealer changed it the first time at 3000, and I did all the others around 4,000 or so.
Good luck and have fun with it.
