This may come as a big shocker to the forum, because one of it's 'concrete truths' the forum seems to believe in, is that CI-4 oil is required. I got email a few days ago straight from the cummins powermaster, saying that Cummins engines without EGR only required CH-4.

Cummins doesn't warranty the engine....DC does....I wouldn't want to fight that battle....

There should probably be some rule that no one can post a comment that an oil is 'not as refined', has 'poorer cold flow properties', beats its wife, etc., unless they can post a link to some objective test or other evidence.

Of course, if that were so these oil threads wouldn't go on very long...
