I have an 05 NV5600 with 15k miles.

Tonight my reverse lights only worked intermittent. What does it entail to change myself and do you think the dealer will change it if they just so happen to work while I am there.

 

verify if it works like this...

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Locate and disconnect the engine wire harness connector for the backup lamp switch.
4. Check for continuity between the two terminal pins in the backup lamp switch connector receptacle.

  1. With the gear selector lever in the Reverse position, there should be continuity.
  2. With the gear selector lever in any position other than Reverse, there should be no continuity.

1. If the switch fails either of these two continuity tests, replace the faulty backup lamp switch.

Should be simple
I would make the dealer change it on warranty tho!
They will not want to if the lights still work.. so I guess you have to just wait for them to quit working completely.

Needs a reverse switch,Common problem.Mine was replaced and tech didn't even try them.He read the complaint,went to parts(they had one!)and replaced it.

 

mine are doing the same thing.stopped by the dealer yesterday and had to order the switch.$61.85 pretty pricey
