NV5600 Question

I am getting ready to change fluid in my nv5600 just to flush it out since it is new. Just wondering what everyone is replacing the stock gear oil with and how many quarts the nv5600 holds.

Redline MTL. Think it takes about 9 pts. Be sure you have a 17mm socket driver before draining so you can refill. Dick

I've tried the Redline and the Pennzoil. Back to the factory stuff for me. Just seems to shift smoother in my particular truck.

Your choices are pretty much limited to the stock Mopar fluid, Pennzoil Synchromesh and Redline MTL.
I think someone on this forum is using Mobil 1 5w-30. Maybe he will chime in and give us a report.

when i changed mine out, i put factory stuff back in it... mopar manual transmission lube for nv3500

[same as needed for nv5600 - same part number]

I am changing mine at 25K mile intervals. Done it twice with Synchromesh. Same specs as factory at a fraction of the cost. It is available branded as Quaker State or Pennziol. I get mine at AutoZone.
