You serious?

The NV5600 is tough as nails. Several of us here that sledpull beat the heck out of them and they keep asking for more! The only weak point we have found (and it really isnt weak) is when we lunge/bounce on a track the main will snap like someone ran a laser through it.
Put the upgraded main in and its good to hook again.

You break a G56 sledpulling and its time to buy a whole new tranny.

The nicest shifting tranny Ive driven is a nv5600 with redline oil, like glass,

(I use to have a nv4500, and have driven a buddys g56 a lot, for comparison)

I have no issues with the NV5600 shifting, since switching to Amsoil MTF.

My 05 NV5600 appears to be leaking out of the input shaft in the bell housing. Just 22,000 miles and already leaking. Not a good first impression! Any other folks suffering from this problem? Never did any heavy pulling. I'm scared to bring it to the lealer. Who knows what condition I'll get it back in?

I have the 05 and my brother and another buddy have a 06 with the g56 we went to a sled pull and I beat them by 20 feet just because of the higher geared nv5600 that little extra helped me that much. It it hasn't been one time I am consistant at beeting them by a couple feet. All of us have same tires and me and my buddy have the same 100hp edge but he also has a airaid intake and a banks high ram.

The NV5600 with the B-D Short Shifter is my choice. I had to look hard to find an '05 with the NV5600 since most of them on the lots (September of '05) were already fitted with the G56 but I wanted cast IRON for the long run.

I have an '07 5.9 with the older G56 and 3.73 axle. At 75 MPH the engine was turning around 2350 RPM (too high for my liking). I installed a Gearvendors Overdrive that does everything I had hoped for. Now at 75MPH it's turning around 1850 RPM and my milage went to 20 MPG. When I'm pulling my 5th wheel I use 5th over instead of 6th under since 6th gear in the G56 is the weakest. 5th over is about the same ratio as 6th under. the Gearvendors is a bit of a pricy sloution but it sure works nice.
