Not Enought Heat
You want to get the truck warmed up as fast as possible. In the winter diesel tends to get in the engine oil. Driving around with a cold engine is not good. In my last oil report I had 0.5% fuel from city driving. With the winter front my truck warms up noticably faster. JMO
Mopar offers a diesel burning heater now, and it is slick. The exhaust wraps the oil pan to heat the oil, and it will even turn on the fan without the truck running to defrost the windshield. It is all pre bent metal tubing (fits nice). The exhaust brake will help some. Program the cruise idle system, and run it to 13-1400 RPM a couple of minutes after start up, this will warm it 3 times as fast as 1000 RPM. Some other goog ideas were brought up, like the cheap cardboard front or winterfront. Like someone said, plugging it in helps alot.

thanks to all. It was really cold here and the truck had not ran for over 2 weeks prior to me taking it out for a drive. I have purchased a winter front for it and will go from there. I will get that exhaust brake.

I have the Mopar behind the grill winterfront on mine. Huge difference in engine temps. I highly recommend you get one. Is your truck a stick or auto?
Also get your manual high idle enabled, big difference. You will find these trucks don't make a lot of heat until they are at 1300RPM or so.
Anyway, this works great on my truck, and I am in the same area as you. I work around Marianna Lakes.
