Norm on shut off?

Been wanting to ask this for awile now,

When I shut off the engine(temp at the 250 mark) is it normal for it to shake the whole truck? reminds me of a gasser out of timing.

If the temp is low as in the needel is still not moved yet it has no shaking at all.

Engine temp at 250? Too high for me! The manual trans trucks seem to have more of a shake when shut off. Yours a manual or auto? Try depressing the clutch if it is.

Shaking is normal for Cummins power - but hopefully your engine temp is not at 250, that is not normal - if it is EGTs on the other hand, you have nothing to worry about.

Personally, I think it would help to know if your refering to the engine temp or the EGT temp.
If the engine temp is 250, you might have a cooling problem.
My 05 temp usually runs shy of 200 * for cooling and I get a slight shaking on shutdown along with a slight squeak of the fan belt.
Its done that since Iv had it, but I consider it a sign of pure power being stopped.

Mine shakes and squeals and usually scares people around it. I replaced the serpentine belt and it really squeals now...

I've heard the high compression of these motors being shut off so quickly is what causes the sound. Perfectly normal

I assume you are refering to post turbo temps be 250. (Thats fine) You may want to look into the Fluidamper to smooth out the engine shutdown mass.
