Why only post with problems? I guess to get answers and let others know what to look for. I have learned a lot here for sure!

But I'm just rolling through 100,000 miles now and don't have any issues. I've had the Smarty jr on since around 15,000 miles, run 33 - 34 inch tires, tow 12,000 pounds maybe once a week, change oil every 10,000 miles or so. I put in a Transgo kit at about 60,000 miles. I still have the 1-2 stutter shift thing but live with it. Overall the truck has been pretty good to me.

I still want leather seats and fender flares!

Well unfortunately that seems to be the nature of the beast...people post when they have a problem but seldom talk about the GOOD things.

One of the biggest issues on a forum is when a person posts about a problem, they get several suggestions on how to fix it and then they don't post what they ended up doing to solve the problem...... it sure would help others if they would make that final report when the problem is cured

Good on you, glad things are working out and you are happy with your ride

These threads pop up from time to time. I'm right around 100,000 as well and have had very few problems. Most have been very small and associated with modding

What is the reasoning behind the 10,000 mile oil change interval? An arbitrary number you picked? Just curious. I personally can't make myself go over 7500.......I just can't regardless of what the manual says

If I did the oil analysis I'm sure I would be okay with taking it further.

I do the same, 10k intervals.... manual for '05MY says 15k is the normal interval, 7500 severe.

My reasoning is: split the difference and easier to remember the change interval.

I have a whopping 53,000 miles on my 04 now. I really need to stop driving it so much!!! Well, I got it 1.5 years ago with less than 25,000 on the ticker so I have driven it quite a bit. Truck looks great, runs great, gets great mileage, AND I recently found an awesome deal on leather seat skins and installed them myself. Feels really good to do that and have the finished product look great. My wife thinks I'm gay for my truck and I'd almost believe her if the truck wasn't a female......

I think she's HOTTTTT!!!

I guess it would be easy to remember anyway. My main problem is just being used to the old every 3,000 mile intervals. I saw 15,000 and just about fell out!

I get annoyed when people (mostly newbies) ask for help and get several good answers and never post again. I know it will happen no matter what but a quick "Thanks" would be nice. I have gone to other forums to ask for help and always make sure to thank them for help.

But I digress

I have just under 78k on my 06 and only thing wrong was a leaking axle seal at about 30k and fixed under warranty. Knock on wood but I can say I have had a very good truck.

pretty fortunate here with mine. ticker shows 89250 but in actuallity am well over 100k (never adjusted for tire height until about a little over a year ago). Trucks been lifted since it had 35 miles on it. Been running 37" to 40" tires and back to 37's. Had a rail psi sensor go out on me last winter, Radiator pop a leak after the fan cut the fan clutch harness and tosses the metal bracket into the radiator, transmission went out (under warranty). Got a few mods for performance and drive it a lot. I am happy. 5k oil changes for me

Exactly!

And when I'm working and traveling a lot, 10K seems to fly by too fast, well it's only about 1000 miles a week, but I get home late and want the weekend for the family and not changing oil. I even considered getting my oil done by someone else

10,000 miles seems to be okay and my analysis reports are good. There's just so much soot in the oil because of that egr I guess.

I cannot make myself go over 6k without an oil change. It kills me to let it go so far. My dad drilled into my head every 3k since I was 15.

As for my truck I love it except for a PIA P0251 code that pops up every so often. Get no CEL, trucks acts like it is gonna die at idle then all of a sudden shoots up to about 1000-1200 rpms and levels out. All is fine after, check for codes and this is the only one that ever shows up.

I have had great luck with my 06. It has 86k on it and had no issues. The batteries are the only parts I've replaced and that was just a few weeks ago.
I have started doing my own oil changes with synthetic every 10k but it is very hard to not do it early, that 3k drilled into my head thing.
I absolutely love this truck, it still is my dream truck and I definitely have a thing for it. Good thing my truck is a gal too.

I've been pissing my money away, I change my oil every 3000 and change the fuel filter every 6000. Trans gets a change every 15,000.
My '06 has had very few issues over its' 56,000 miles of service, although the ball joints once again have play in them.

Would love to do 10k oil changes but blackstone says maybe not for me and I run syn 5-7k seems to work. Must be cause of the insane temps we have here. 62k on mine and the only problem I've had is no doing Smarty and Pac on sooner oh and 11k of hail damage but she all new on the out side.
