No 48RE in Canada for a while and not for SO

My dealer informed me that the regional Chrysler rep says the 48RE won't be available to us igloo-dwellers until a couple months after the US and rental companies can get them. He also said that engineering told them the 48RE is only for the HO. The good news is I am KZ M status..."IIIII'm dreeeaming of a graphite-metallic Chriiistmaaas".

Well I'd say he told you that so you wouldn't want to switch. My order computer clearly shows the 48re is available with the S.O. The packages are 2FA for an ST, 2FG for an SLT, and 2FH for a Laramie. If you want a H.O. engine put a "U" in the "F"'s place. For example my truck is a 2UG. ??? However the 47re still shows being available with the S.O., they give you the choice. I'd say they will offer both until they get rid of all the 47re's that they have but that is just a guess ???

I don't think that was it Luke, because if I were going to switch I'd go to the HO, whether I need it or not, so saying the SO and 48RE aren't compatible wouldn't help his case. That said, I have no doubt that you are correct about them being an option together. The people at my dealership are very nice and work hard to get the answers to my questions, but they do not have the knowledge of the product like you do. I drive my sales guy nuts with questions I derive from this site .

Well I did not mean to say they were dis-honest I just find it so much these days in my business. Maybe things are just different in Canada ???I wish I could give you guys the link to my order page so you could see for yourself but that is not possible because it is naturally a restricted area. ??? :'(

Luke, we trust ya, pardner!

I figure that I'll be waiting for the 48RE so I can get me a 2UH up here in the GWN. Like they say, if you're going do it, go BIG! Methinks it'll be a 2500 QC SWB 4x4 LARAMIE HO/48RE Sport in Black...now if only I can get the CFO's signature on a piece of paper and transfer it to....

Cheers,
DT
