Proud new owner of 2005 Quad Cab CTD auto trans.

A few questions:

What kind of mileage can I expect before and after adding some 35" tires?
2" leveling kit fit 35's with 18" Rockstars?
What can I do to improve mileage and/or performance that's relatively inexpensive?

Any words of advice for a NEW diesel owner?
Where can I find my gear info?

thanks in advance fellas, I look forward to hearing back.
This is a BIG change from the Wrangler Rubicon I traded in.

Welcome,
I've only been here a few months myself and I also have a 2005, you didn't mention the miles on the truck. My MPG is about 14.5 with in town driving, I have stock rims and tire size.
To free up the mileage and a little HP, open up the exhaust and intake to flow more air. If you still have warranty, I'd invest in a Smarty, it's undetectable when set back to stock for warranty work and it has 10 different program settings, from mild to wild, so it can help with mileage, or help to burn the tires off when you want to play (just not at the same time)
I hope this helps, and I'm sure you will get many more helpful replies.

Assuming 4wd:
14-16 in town and 15-18 highway.

If you get any less, it because of your right foot, or something is wrong with the truck. You get any more, your driving Miss Daisy.

Your right foot, intake, exhaust, and simple prgrammer from Bully Dog, Edge, Smarty, etc.....

Change fuel filter every 10-15K miles or so. For best fuel economy, diesel's like 2000RPM or less.

Find gear ratio in the glovebox.

Been looking around a bit more.

I think the my white truck, debadged, spears removed, and 18" black Rockstars and 35" tires with a leveling kit would be rockin'

Windows are getting tinted today. Checked out Line-X yesterday. I never knew that stuff was that much money but probably money well spent.

Question about the SMARTY and other programmers. What is the benefit of the HP increase both with and without the additional timing?
