My truck has original tranny and didn't pull anything until I bought it with 192K miles. I pull about 15 to 20 times a year mainly cattle trailer, or pulling hay or a tractor on flatbed. I know a Goerend is what I need but is there any other tranny swap that is a little more economical? If I could get by and spend $2K that would be nice but maybe I can't?

 

IMHO if you can its best to do it right the first time instead of doing half baked rebuild job several times.
